Public Sessions
Your volunteer experience will be 2 hours in length and will include registration, a short presentation on children at risk, training, packing, cleaning up, tasting the food and picture taking! Sessions are held the first Sunday and third Monday of the months unless otherwise specified. We do ask for help financially to pay for the ingredients that you will use during your session. Register online for the public sessions. There is a 10 slot maximum for each registration. Private Sessions
Private Session packing events give you the flexibility of determining how many participants you would like to have in your group (1-10 per time frame) as well as flexibility in scheduling – you can name the date and time. This is a great opportunity to celebrate special events such as family reunions, birthdays, team building! We’ll help you determine the venue and the necessary donation for your event (just 19.8 cents/meal, approximately $27/person/hour). Interested? Mobile Sessions
Our Mobile Sessions option is designed to help organizations conduct a Packing at Your Place event. For these opportunities, we bring the "Warehouse" to you! These special events are appropriate for any group where hundreds and even thousands of people can be involved. In some cases, the organization may be packing the food for a special mission that they support personally. Due to Nebraska weather, we typically schedule mobile events March – mid-November. We’ll help you determine the venue and the necessary donation for your event (just 23 cents/meal, approximately $31/person/hour). Interested? REQUEST A MOBILE PACKAGING SESSION

Remember: Each member of your group will be able to produce enough nutritious food to feed 1 child for 1 year in just 2 hours. That is 360 meals per participant! To support your event with confidence and quality, your group is asked to:

• Provide 23¢ per meal that is packed during your session – the add'l 3¢ covers our extra costs of trucks, transportation, equipment, etc
• Guarantee a minimum production of 30,000 meals for your event here in Lincoln, outside of Lincoln we need a minimum of 50,000 meals
• Send a down payment of 50% one month prior to the event in order to advance order all of the supplies that will be needed
• Provide payment of the remaining 50% within 5 days of the event based upon the actual number of meals produced
• Provide audio visual equipment, projectors and space for the training of your volunteers either in the packing room or in an adjacent area
• Have help from your organization available to unload and load the trucks, to clean up the facility when the event is finished AND to be available as line leaders assisting the Red Shirt Team
• Allow our organization to set up the Kids Against Hunger Shop for the sale of relevant items
• Consider an honorarium of $3-500 to cover incidental costs and stipends for the professional help that is provided to make this a success
